    A Fun Guitar Podcast
I really enjoy the hosts and their sense of fun and levity. Only weird thing is that I find it jarring how they start immediately with the guitar listings portion which imo feels like it should be the final segment. I'm the least interested in that portion and much prefer their general discussions. But it's not my show! Do your thing.

    A highlight of the week
Love the format, the banter, and the content. Few podcasts can make me laugh till my face hurts. This is one of them.

    I like it
    Enough said

Listen to something more tangible than this.
I haven’t heard anything substantial from this podcast or it’s YouTube channel. This show comes off as white noise along with the monotonous amount of podcasts from people that feel the world needs to know their opinions about “stuff.” Good on these dudes for being just like the multitude of other people who have a podcast and can make some money for their efforts. But there is no value here. There is nothing to see or hear here.....move along. Move along.

    Just ok
It’s somewhat entertaining, but they often ramble way too long. They need to stay away from their occasional dabble into politics. They are political simpletons.

These guys are still at it?
I thought they wouldn’t last a year but here they are still doing it. They must love the sound of their own voices.

    Fun podcast
I was subscribed to the YouTube channel but started listen when I wasn’t able to watch. Love the reviews about the guitar listings, but the the album reviews were a great surprise. Love the conversation.

Fun show about guitars and other related stuff
Fun and entertaining with some interesting information sprinkled in between

    Sometimes it’s funny
I’ve listened for a year or so now and it’s been mildly entertaining to listen to them comment on ads for guitars and basses being sold. I’m done for awhile though because, even though I’m not the biggest Rush fan, having listened to them be so degrading and dismissive to the album 2112 just a couple of weeks after Neil Peart passes away struck me as distasteful.

I thought this was about bicycles!
I thought this would be about the sound made by 60 bicycles riding down the road. Don’t be fooled. They talk about guitars.

    Best Cycle Podcast
Ryan and Steve talk everything cycle related. Some might think that the "cycle" in 60 Cycle Hum is a reference to bicycles. Wikipedia has this to say about bicycles: Bicycle From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search For other uses, see Bicycle (disambiguation). "Bike" redirects here. For other uses, see Bike (disambiguation). A bicycle, also called a cycle or bike, is a human-powered or motor-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. A bicycle rider is called a cyclist, or bicyclist. Bicycles were introduced in the late 19th century in Europe, and by the early 21st century, more than 1 billion have been produced worldwide.[1][2][3] These numbers far exceed the number of cars, both in total and ranked by the number of individual models produced.[4][5][6] They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for use as children's toys, general fitness, military and police applications, courier services, bicycle racing and bicycle stunts. The basic shape and configuration of a typical upright or "safety bicycle", has changed little since the first chain-driven model was developed around 1885.[7][8][9] However, many details have been improved, especially since the advent of modern materials and computer-aided design. These have allowed for a proliferation of specialized designs for many types of cycling. The bicycle's invention has had an enormous effect on society, both in terms of culture and of advancing modern industrial methods. Several components that eventually played a key role in the development of the automobile were initially invented for use in the bicycle, including ball bearings, pneumatic tires, chain-driven sprockets and tension-spoked wheels.[10] Etymology The word bicycle first appeared in English print in The Daily News in 1868, to describe "Bysicles and trysicles" on the "Champs Elysées and Bois de Boulogne".[11] The word was first used in 1847 in a French publication to describe an unidentified two-wheeled vehicle, possibly a carriage.[11] The design of the bicycle was an advance on the velocipede, although the words were used with some degree of overlap for a time.[11][12] Other words for bicycle include "bike",[13] "pushbike",[14] "pedal cycle",[15] or "cycle".[16] In Unicode, the code point for "bicycle" is 0x1F6B2. The entity 🚲 in HTML produces 🚲.[17] History Main article: History of the bicycle The "Dandy horse", also called Draisienne or Laufmaschine, was the first human means of transport to use only two wheels in tandem and was invented by the German Baron Karl von Drais. It is regarded as the modern bicycle's forerunner; Drais introduced it to the public in Mannheim in summer 1817 and in Paris in 1818.[18][19] Its rider sat astride a wooden frame supported by two in-line wheels and pushed the vehicle along with his or her feet while steering the front wheel.[18] The first mechanically-propelled, two-wheeled vehicle may have been built by Kirkpatrick MacMillan, a Scottish blacksmith, in 1839, although the claim is often disputed.[20] He is also associated with the first recorded instance of a cycling traffic offense, when a Glasgow newspaper in 1842 reported an accident in which an anonymous "gentleman from Dumfries-shire... bestride a velocipede... of ingenious design" knocked over a little girl in Glasgow and was fined five shillings.[21] In the early 1860s, Frenchmen Pierre Michaux and Pierre Lallement took bicycle design in a new direction by adding a mechanical crank drive with pedals on an enlarged front wheel (the velocipede). This was the first in mass production. Another French inventor named Douglas Grasso had a failed prototype of Pierre Lallement's bicycle several years earlier. Several inventions followed using rear-wheel drive, the best known being the rod-driven velocipede by Scotsman Thomas McCall in 1869. In that same year, bicycle wheels with wire spokes were patented by Eugène Meyer of Paris.[22] The French vélocipède, made of iron and wood, developed into the "penny-farthing" (historically known as an "ordinary bicycle", a retronym, since there was then no other kind).[23] It featured a tubular steel frame on which were mounted wire-spoked wheels with solid rubber tires. These bicycles were difficult to ride due to their high seat and poor weight distribution. In 1868 Rowley Turner, a sales agent of the Coventry Sewing Machine Company (which soon became the Coventry Machinists Company), brought a Michaux cycle to Coventry, England. His uncle, Josiah Turner, and business partner James Starley, used this as a basis for the 'Coventry Model' in what became Britain's first cycle factory.[24] The dwarf ordinary addressed some of these faults by reducing the front wheel diameter and setting the seat further back. This, in turn, required gearing—effected in a variety of ways—to efficiently use pedal power. Having to both pedal and steer via the front wheel remained a problem. Englishman J. K. Starley (nephew of James Starley), J. H. Lawson, and Shergold solved this problem by introducing the chain drive (originated by the unsuccessful "bicyclette" of Englishman Henry Lawson),[25] connecting the frame-mounted cranks to the rear wheel. These models were known as safety bicycles, dwarf safeties, or upright bicycles for their lower seat height and better weight distribution, although without pneumatic tires the ride of the smaller-wheeled bicycle would be much rougher than that of the larger-wheeled variety. Starley's 1885 Rover, manufactured in Coventry[26] is usually described as the first recognizably modern bicycle.[27] Soon the seat tube was added, creating the modern bike's double-triangle diamond frame... I would go on but iTunes does not allow me to copy and paste any further. This podcast is about guitars not bicycles.

    Tried hard!
Tried hard to like your cast, but you guys are boring and monotone! It makes me wanna pull my hair out, and I’m bald! Sorry, the practical guitarist is better!

    Was into it but...
Having to listen to Ryan borderline drunk and slurring has been too annoying lately. The latest episode, titled "worst episode ever", really was the worst one ive heard. Had to unsubscribe. At least for a while. Ill come back and give you guys another shot and if its improved, Id certainly edit my review accordingly because in the general sense this is a good podcast with good info but dude, maybe lay off the booze a little. Makes it really difficult to listen to.

    Too much drinking
I used to love this podcast then they made it a point to start drinking during the podcast. Now they seem to go more and more off on other subjects and on weird tangents it’s also a real turn off to actually be able to hear them drinking through the mic. Good luck to you guys, I have unsubscribed.
  • Roxlider
    What were they thinking?
You can always tell when they're recording episode 2, they sound like a couple of hopeless drunks! Should be called the drunken guys who want Fender offset guitars even though they sound like crap. You can hear them slurring and spitting all over the mics. They should probably get fart mics for the back end.... Just kidding, you know I love your cast, Ryan and Steve! Keep up the good work.

    Second chance!
At first I just didn't jive with the show but I gave it a second chance and now really enjoy it. Casual talk between two friends as they talk guitar gear etc. The show is well recorded and they cover a variety of topics.

Steve and Ryan have become one of my favorite side pieces (not sure if that's the correct plural for side piece).

    Fun and informative
I've learned a lot about guitar hardware from 60 cycle hum. Ryan and Steve put great work into production and you can hear the difference in their early vs established episodes. Highly recommend for anybody interested in guitar tech, hardware and humor.

    Great Podcast
I vote for purple LED’s on all pedals.

    What the…??
I thought this was a podcast about humming. I guess I needed to read the fine print… Imagine my disappointment. It is entertaining enough and the interplay between Brian and Steeb has me laughing in my coffee cup. It’s cool hearing about guitar gear. It really is. But how about humming every once in a while?

    Good times
Good dudes, good vibes, and good times. Ryan and Steve help ease the dull ache that is my daily commute.

    I like drunk Steve.
I love the ads portion of the show. Ryan and Steve are really becoming good hosts and the recording quality is really good now. They say the words strymon, tremolo, flanger wrong all the time. Its kind of a thing now I guess. Lol. I dig it.

    Karma Chameleon
For real, Gary needs to get his crap together. Steve and Ryan are mystical creatures and a land of even more mystical Creatures. I like when Tyack comes on because it's like the normal podcast but with one more person. This podcast is better than listening to my wife nag at me about guitar stuff. Seriously, in three weeks I've listened to 62 episodes. Great stuff.

    Like Chatting with my Bros
I found these guys through a demo they did of a pedal I had been keeping tabs on since it was announced. I checked out the podcast and went back and marathoned the 10 most recent episode and was immediately hooked. Listening to this podcast is like chatting about gear with the members of my band. It’s light hearted, informative, and these guys know their gear. I get something worthwhile from every single episode. Informative AND entertaining. I’m on board!

Making work tolerable with gear talk...
What’s better than playing the guitar? Nothing… But when you can’t play, talking about playing is the second best thing. Listening to Ryan & Steve talk about guitars and gear is almost like talking to my jam buddies about guitars and gear. Their show makes even the most boring afternoons at work tolerable.

    best part of my Monday...
is when 60 cycle hum comes out with a new episode. I often start it in the morning before work. Then after work finish it. See, that wold be normal for someone who listens to podcasts. Except these guys talk about guitars, beer, geography, and a bunch of other stuff. The beer thing gets me however. Once they talk about beer…the beer at my house comes out. Making for an awful Tuesday, even still. 60 Cycle Hum is my favorite podcast by far. All joking aside these guys know a lot of good and useful information about whats happening in the guitar world and give you a great insight. I love this podcast so much…great work Ryan and Steve!!!

    Best podcast in the world
In the beginning of time there was man. Man at some point made music and at an even later point invented podcasts. All of those things pale in comparison to the greatness of this podcast. 2 real dudes talking about real gear. 60 cycle hum podcast is. Y far the best podcast I am subscribed to. Boom!

Do you need to know how to pronounce tremolo? These guys won't help you. Five stars. Awesome podcast.

I had a vision for this show....
The following is a letter that was emailed to me by former producer Gary who has asked that I post this review unabridged and unedited so people can know the truth. The letter is as follows: As Former producer of this podcast, let me just say that this show could've been even better if they would have simply listened to my feedback from the start. Fine, maybe I dropped the ball once or twice, but I still feel as if my part in the show was the strongest. The adisode, that was my idea from the 4th episode! "No, Gary, that'll never be cool, you aren't cool. We're done talking to you, run the board." I was also a proprietor of many on air jokes, but, of course, I didn't have a Mic. As a matter of fact, when ever Daniel Tyack is on the show, all he does is repeat EVERYTHING I say. Hi, Daniel. Hang later? Cool.. "Oh Ryan and Steve are so funny, not Gary though, I hate that guy.." I have feelings, you know. You people don't even know me! I'll have you know my mother says in very special! Long story made short. It's a good show, and it's all my fault. You're welcome.

My husband wants me to write a review on your podcast so he can win the contest. I am reluctant to write this because i don't play guitar or care to learn anytime soon. Whenever Coe shows me a picture of a guitar I say, "thats pretty." I have listened to your podcast for only a few minutes and then I turn it off because talking about guitars is so boring. I get enough of that at home. I think you guys are funny but what you talk about is not interesting to me. However, I do like that you play peoples songs and make fun of craiglist ads. And my husband enjoys being involved here and there in your podcast. So thanks for that. Thats all I got.

    This is a guitar podcast
This is a guitar podcast. They do not discuss llama's, firefighting, rollercoasters or 18th century French politics. They do however sometimes talk about unicorns, mispronounce the words "Tremolo" and "Celestion". They often drink beer. If you are looking for a podcast like the one I have described then you should subscribe to this podcast and listen to its episodes.
