Advice for both planning and later living your retirement

The show has evolved over the years, and I like that he tries new approaches and keeps what works. Some of his best podcast sections are his when he works with volunteers on their individual retirement plans. There’s much to learn from their experiences and planning.

AT&T Data Breach

Listening to your episode about the AT&T Data breach. You said that you really weren’t mad at AT&T. But have we ever really stopped and asked ourselves why AT&T needed your Social Security number in the first place? They really don’t! We need to be more mindful in asking why a companies selling us a cell phone/plan needs our SSN’s. They don’t need it. If we don’t pay, they shut off our phones. It’s that simple. Companies like AT&T shouldn’t be allowed to collect so much info from us that it can destroy our lives if they don’t protect our info.

Great resource

This show is a great resource whether you are years away from retirement or already there. Roger and crew are very entertaining and do a great job of selecting topics and guests that are easy to listen to and understand. Some other retirement podcasts are super dry, this one is like ear candy that is actually good for you. Give it a listen!

I’ve listened to all the Retirement Podcasts- once. This is by far superior to any others, and I never miss an episode. Roger treats Retirement holistically; it’s about planning for the money, yes- but interwoven into every podcast are talks about lifestyle changes, family concerns, mental health, everything one can expect to be dealing with, before, during, and after retirement- it’s a lifestyle, not a one-time event. What I like about this show is that it is well-rounded. I listen to a variety of retirement, financial, and investment podcasts, and this is the only one that covers important aspects of retirement beyond the financial, including physical, emotional, and social wellness. Love it!

Great podcast, even better resource

Roger has put an amazing amount of effort into creating a very valuable educational resource for anyone who is, wants to be, or is forced to be retired. Of course, retirement means different things to different people and anyone along that continuum can get something out of this podcast, financial and perhaps more importantly non-financial. There is a really nice team approach - I certainly enjoy some coaches more than others, some episodes more than others, but after listening to all 500+ episodes I always managed to take away something. Despite being free, it’s also largely free of bias, and although I’ve (paid for and) joined the club, the links and recommendations are easily followed for those wanting to dive deeper. Easy to listen to on my commute and my frequent walks. Glad I found it!

Best Retirement Podcast

I’ve been listening to the show for several years now and went back to listen to the ones I missed. I recently retired and find the show in line for my needs/wants/desires. I sometimes wish for a more detailed answer by Roger voicing the assumptions for the answer (because the assumptions can completely change the answer) so we can understand the full thought for a particular situation. Most of the time the subjects are very pertinent to my life in retirement and I appreciate the well organized and thoughtful, kind, show that is produced.

Wow, did that just happen?

The last retirement live event was disgraceful. I don’t know how you thought it was ok to drag that person through what was clearly a totally failed plan from the start, and do so in public. And then you went straight into your sales pitch for your $99 a month retirement club. You have clearly moved to the monetizing dark side along with your RRC elite who are obsessed with their money counting and culture. I used to like the podcast but clearly the motivations have changed.

Best Retirement Podcast - covers all

I've been listening to Roger for years. Started listening about 2 years prior to retirement. His early episodes were exactly the "how to" instructions to prepare for retirement. He has branched out to include more of how to Rock retirement that takes you beyond the numbers which is harder to implement but definitely helps simplify framing of those important non-number considerations. START from Episode #1!

Retirement Group Therapy

Roger has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on, yet he draws on contributing voices to help allay the fear and anxiety of changing identity (employed to retired). I started listening about 2-3 years before retiring and was just what I needed. After 18 months of retirement and despite the current economic climate I have no regrets. Roger discusses RETIREMENT. Until I found him, my focus was only on a number and how to get to that right number. Roger does discuss strategies on how to manage your money, but also how to prepare you mind, body and soul so that when you do retire you not only have enough money, but you also have enough Life to spend and enjoy it.

Great info as one prepares to retire

Started listening to Roger a couple years before retirement and I continue to listen after 5 years of retirement. I enjoy the diversity of topics, extending beyond just money, and learn a lot! I attempt to apply his “pie-cake” approach, yet I haven’t gotten my advisor on the same page yet. Keep it up Roger! I’m still listening.
