S.C. ThomasPhenomenal PodcastMy wife sent me his Podcast and I really enjoyed it. She reached out to him for a few sessions and he has become a part of our family and is EXTREMELY fair and professional. It seems as if I’m talkin’ to a big brother. As a husband for 10yrs and a father of two, Dr. Taylor is underrated and a true practitioner in his field. If you don’t have the knowledge, he helps you find your way, if you have the knowledge but not the wisdom, he ALSO helps you find your way to apply it.

RaiinbowEyesSexism and toxic masculinityI would suggest if you’re a new listener, to listen to Episode 19 on 6 Things Healthy Husbands Do Very Well. If that episode jives with you, you’ll probably like this podcast. If not, probably best to move on. Wanted to love this podcast, the host seems like a great guy- but upon listening to a few episodes, it became clear his ideas about men and masculinity and its roll in the marriage are very sexist. Classic gender toxic masculinity abounds. He also refers to the Bible and following scripture consistently enough to make me uncomfortable. I found great insight in the episode about color vs linear thinking. But didn’t feel I could send this to my husband becuse my husband would dismiss the whole episode becuse of the sexist remarks. Which I wouldn’t blame him for. The 6 healthy husband habits was the one that finally made me nope out. I could see this being very harmful if my husband actually took this insight and advice. Which is why I suggest it as a first go, to see if this approach is what you align yourself with. I’m sure this kind of approach has many fans, but I’m just not one of them.

East coast RobbinAbsolutely love!!I am not a married women, but have been in a relationship with my significant other for over a year. Our relationship is difficult for many reasons:1) it’s long distance (400 miles separate us), 2) he is an extremely successful entrepreneur, and 3) he would describe himself as the “alpha male” type if you asked him. The pros, we met when I was 18, he was 20… I’m now 44 so I’ve known him my entire life. We’ve both experienced relationships with other people that have shaped who we are today. Both of us come from divorced parents, and neither he or I had father figures growing up. I just wanted to thank you for all the information you provide on how males think, communicate, prioritize their world, how the “show up” in relationships, why they are in relationships. I found your podcast when I knew I hit a point in our relationship when my looks and intelligence were only gonna get me so far. My significant other is very methodical in every aspects of his life, everything has a process for a reason. Listening to your advice and practical experience has made my job as his friend and partner, be more understanding, patient, and even provide him with more unconditional love. Thank you ❤️

100,000 metersLike Chatting with a Wise Friend Over CoffeeI absolutely love this podcast! It feels like sitting down with a best friend who’s been married for over 20 years, having a heart-to-heart over coffee. They listen to your issues, aren’t afraid to call you out when needed, and offer practical advice to help you improve. The insights are grounded in personal experience, and the weekly action tips are great for helping you grow in the topics discussed.

longtimelistener 1st reviewThis is not enough!I wish you’d stop saying “I wish I had more time…” the ideas you speak about are so helpful that I wish you dived deeper into them. Do 1,2 or 3 hour episodes, do “3 part series’”, just give us moooooore! I do understand that maybe there might be some material you’re keeping for the in-person events/seminars or another book perhaps, and I’m so grateful for you and everything you share, however brief. Glad I found this podcast.. it’s so helpful! Keep sharing more content and good luck with your dissertation! Greetings from Uganda!

abaeja01So thankful!I was praying for a book on marriage counseling. I started searching and God lead me to your podcast. I love that you share your wisdom and knowledge with us. I started to listen with my husband and he enjoys you as well. So thankful to God for you. Thank you ❤️.

hinncdrcAmazing! So glad my husband and I came across this podcast. Even better that the facts are coming from a believer! Great work sir, be blessed 🙏🏽
-
glampajamHelpful but you’d have better reach if you kept it secularI’m an atheist personally and I derived many helpful tips from this episode and i know many find comfort in religion and fully respect that. I want to be able to listen to this with my partner but the religious commentary would prevent him from being able to get past it. I think your reach would be better if we kept it about the relationship/therapy.

MccshaaWealth of Practical Marriage WisdomThank you for this very practical, applicable marriage wisdom! I love the format like going to a counseling session, but from my car and it’s filled with Biblical wisdom in loving your spouse well… and how to become a better person along the way. Keep up the great work!

BelleVBeastHas been an eye opening podcastFrom the first podcast (of the new series) I listened to I was hooked! Every podcast is packed full of so much good information! I am in a difficult season of my marriage and have been looking to better myself, better my marriage and understand the things my husband is going through. After the first episode I listened to, I reached out to David and we scheduled a consultation! I felt so comfortable and safe to be open about what is going on and was given wonderful insight on how to navigate these troubled waters. I listen to his podcasts every single day. I say with confidence that because of this podcast (and the grace of God) I am able to stand another day, another week, another month….all while growing myself in the process. I am hopeful to be able to start coaching or counseling with them in the near future!

Lina831Aloha from Hawai’iAloha David & Mandy, I’m D, and I’ve been listening to your podcast since I was 18 y/old. I am now 25 and married almost two months now! God is good 🙌 I’ve listened to A LOT of marriage podcasts, sermons, YouTube videos. I’ve read the books, I’ve talked to older couples. From 18-25, I have only found a few credible sources that I could cling to. Besides the Bible / Jesus: Focus on the Family, Adrian, Rodgers, John Hagee, Myles Monroe, and YOUR podcast (other sources but just to name a few). I wanted to give credit where it is due. Thanks for your knowledge and your wisdom. As Robert Greene wrote in the 48 Laws of Power, “Like Janus, the double-faced Roman deity and guardian of all gates and doorways, you must be able to look in both directions at once, the better to handle danger from wherever it comes. Such is the face you must create for yourself- one face looking continuously to the future and the other to the past.” He then goes on to say, “… you look at the past to learn from those who came before you.” In mentioning this, I wanted to thank the both of you for sharing your knowledge/ experience so that I can hopefully avoid painful mistakes. Thank you for discussing your marriage and the mistakes you made in order to break the back of divorce for folks who are newly married / been married, or find themselves in a marriage crisis. God bless and Mahalo 🌺

skitz1015Relatable; Intriguing topics with action stepsSo far every episode I’ve listened to has been rich with information and tools I can use. I’ve shared the show with my husband and friends. There’s just enough mix of research, stories, his professional experience and some Bible sprinkled here and there. I know I’ll get something out of every episode.

Mcop's ladySo Far So NeededI’ve felt an attack on marriages recently and the enemy almost destroyed ours. This has been spot on and some of my favorite spiritual leaders have said the same as David. I’ve only listened to the latest 3 episodes but I’m impressed! Cant wait to hear more and I’ve already shared it with single and married friends!

JoAnna Harr9Single and studyingMy sister sent me this podcast to listen to learn more about marriage. I desire to be married but I understand it’s not an easy calling. If there was anything I could do to prepare myself before my husband finds me I’m all in. I’m so thankful for the information I’m receiving, I’m learning, understanding and will practice wisdom when that time comes and before as I walk in singleness with God and allow him to prune me.

Ryleesmom1THE BEST on marriageI have listened to a lot of people on marriage. I have been to a lot of counselors. My husband and I have done marriage counseling with a couple of different counselors. This podcast is BY FAR the best at understanding the dynamics of marriages. I think the six stages of marriage should be something engaged couples or newly weds listen to, before things go downhill. Come on ya’ll! It’s SO good; SO insightful. Each episode is teaching me and calling me out on my stuff that I’m doing to contribute to my “broke” marriage. Well done- you guys are a great team. Wish more couples had this, before it goes south but for sure, when stuff hits the fan. I don’t like this place my husband and I are in, but definitely growing as a person and a wife through it. 👍💜✌️

Erks1234I literally stumbled upon this after having another rough night with my husbandAfter having a hard day yesterday with my husband, I was desperate for any sort of healthy input in my marriage. I searched marriage advice in podcasts and came across this podcast. I listened to the first podcast that attracted my eye and holy cow, it was EVERYTHING I needed to hear. I have a lot of childhood trauma and I brought that into my marriage because I finally felt a love that I craved my entire life. But little did I know, the Pandora box of childhood trauma I opened, hasn’t been able to be closed. But this podcast helped point out every single thing I needed to grow and learn on and I’m so appreciative you guys obeyed God’s calling on your life to speak to other married couples on how to make their marriage work even through the rough times. I’m serious, this podcast I listened to will eventually change my marriage and life once I implement it. That of course, is key. So thank you guys for being that God like whisper on implementing change and being an advocate for healthy emotional intelligence. I seriously cannot thank you enough.

Spotty33New find when I needed it mostJust discovered this Podcast at a time when I needed it most. I’m 4 episodes in and I already have pages of notes of things I need to look at myself for and that I want to bring into our marriage. Our marriage has its days but we do pretty good. Recently we have struggled with unemployment and some other issues. Now with COVID-19 putting us under quarantine we struggle with new issues. All this time together brought us back together as a family, but has made it harder as a married couple. Working on my husband to be come a listen. Pray for us y’all.

J HendA Great Marriage PodcastThis podcast is so edifying to listen to. I play it in the car with my husband when we are driving with our toddler son, and if we are having a bad day, the podcast puts us back in the right mindset. I must’ve played the ‘pillars of marriage’ episode at least three times so far. You are a blessing; God bless you and keep up the good work!

BlackLove50+New subscriberMy BF and I were searching for a spiritual and educational podcast which highlights Black Love and marriage. One that would help us be proactive in creating a successful courtship leading up to a fruitful marriage and I believe we found one! This episode was insightful and if I’m honest I learned something my first time in!! The discussion around being vulnerable helped me open up and apologize to my BF for a sitch where I missed the mark and didn’t create a safe an secure space for him. THANKS DAVID & AMANDA! Looking forward to hearing and learning more.
