A last-minute party with no menu inspiration. A kitchen with no space. A toddler who will only eat buttered pasta. Name your dinner emergency—Bon Appétit is here to help.  Dinner SOS is the podcast where we answer desperate home cooks' cries for help. In every episode, food director Chris Morocco and a rotating cast of cooking experts tackle a highly specific conundrum and present two solutions. The caller will pick one, cook through it, and let us know if we successfully helped rescue dinner. Call in with your own dinner emergencies—no problem is too big or too small! For the recipes featured in Dinner SOS and more, head to bonappetit.com or download the new Epicurious App in the iOS App Store. You can find episodes of our previous podcast, Food People, here.

    Take a load off
This is the twenty-first century guys! In the episode “I Need Lots of Protein” all the emphasis is on bright chatter about recipes, when part of the solution is clearly that this mother needs some assistance in the kitchen to lighten her load. Her strapping six foot plus sons could take on a bit of responsibility in producing those nightly three and four pound protein meals by at least doing the dishes. No one suggested that.

Beef Cheeks the Leroy and Lewis BBQ Method
Overall I’ve been enjoying the pod. The beef cheeks episode had me champing at the bit waiting for the hosts to talk about confit. Basting the cheeks with butter is a good idea and talking about chamber moisture is right in the mark, but I really think beef cheeks cannot be cooked in a dry environment. I’ve done a similar method with the lean cut of a brisket where you sous vide it to tenderness and then chill it down and put in the refrigerator then some time later 1-3 days I’ll reheat the brisket by smoking it for 2 hours with charcoal and wood chunks and it gets a smoke ring. Sous vide cooking doesn’t seem to interrupt smoke penetration nor nitrate deposits for a bark. These episodes have been great to listen to while commuting and get my brain thinking about how to diversify my own meals. As an omnivore I really enjoyed the “eat more vegetables” episode as I fill my fridge with grilled steaks.. “oh, I should probably eat these with kimchi at least”.

    Delicious!!
Ok I’m drooling on my pillow. At night I listen to podcasts to relax. This shows is one of my favorites. I just listened to Chris help an Aussie in Italy prepare Mac n cheese and fried chicken plus apple pie for her American friends. Withoutp any visuals I can almost taste and savior that meal!! All the Stars
I have a two hour daily commute. I have some time for podcasts. Dinner SOS doesn’t last long enough or happen as frequently as I could possibly want. A man who has hot takes and a hard pass on both bananas and peanut butter just makes me feel SEEN. It’s a fun and insightful pod for people who love food. Really team, ALL the stars! Thank you.

    Dinner SOS featuring Vegetarian Sarah
What a revelation this episode of Dinner SOS was! I have been trying to get more veggies into my pastas for years, and I feel like Chris and Kendra guided Sarah (and me) like expert sherpas through the scary mountains of crumbly tofu. I have come out the other side ready to use a fish spatula!

    Dinner SOS
It’s a good show, but lately Chris is getting too bossy and picks on his co-chef.

Fun host and great, accessible recipes!
Love this show! Chris Morocco serves as a passionate and playful host, and he is perfect for the pseudo competitive format for the show. They address common and relatable issues that home cooks encounter, and provide helpful and easy tips, as well as a couple of accessible yet interesting and flavorful recipes to try in each episode. This show is great for both laughs and learning how to cook better.

    My Funny Food Bible
I’m not a podcast person, but I tune in religiously for weekly inspiration, laughs, new recipes, and general good cooking advice. Dinner SOS is the only show like it, please never stop making episodes!! It satisfies my inner foodie like nothing else can. PS - More readers’ mailbag eps and Shilpa, please!

I like it but they upload the wrong episodes
I wanted to listen to the Christmas one, but the cookie episode got reuploaded again instead? This has happened in the past too.

    Love this podcast!
I have been listening to Dinner SOS since the beginning and I love it! I’ve learned a lot about cooking and baking and it inspired me to riff on a Thanksgiving casserole this year…which was a major success. Thanks Bon Appetit for some great content!

    My favorite podcast
Everything about Dinner SOS is fantastic. It’s entertaining, interesting and introduces me to an incredible variety of new recipes. By the end of each episode my mouth is watering and I’m running to the kitchen to try something new. Chris Morocco is a great host and the callers, (regardless of their experience level) are wonderful.

    Great escape
I listen at night before bed to end the day with a great recipe or a smile from the conversation and interaction of all involved!

    Where are the old episodes?
I think the old episodes have been taken down and I am devastated! This is my favorite podcast and I have listened to these episodes repeatedly dozens of times. Please bring them back!!!!
  • asdhjlvcfyuh
    Sorry Chris
That’s it. I can’t even make it thru the Thanksgiving episode. Chris us insufferable. “LIKE”…you didn’t invent flattening out poultry for an even season and cook “situation”. WHAT has happened to BA? Ugh.

    Addicted to Dinner SOS
I stumbled upon this podcast by accident and it has proven to be my #1 FAVORITE shows that I listen to! I have tried MANY of the recipe suggestions and every single one has been delicious!!! I look forward to each new episode!! Thanx Chris!!!

    Too much chatter
I watch a lot of cooking shows and listen to podcasts about recipes and cooking. I really wanted to like this podcast but there is too much banter and laughter between the hosts. It’s like they’re at their own private party. I’d like to see more discussion about recipes and less off topic chatter and laughter. I have to keep fast forwarding to get to the pertinent information or i lose my patience. You’re better off just clicking the link for the recipes and skipping the discussion

    Fun and helpful podcast
I enjoy this podcast so much! A lot of the episodes introduce me to helpful new tips, concepts, or recipes, and even when they don’t seem relevant to my cooking life, they are always entertaining and interesting.

one of my fave, go-to podcasts
i hate to give 4 stars but only doing this because as someone who’s listened since the first ep and looks forward to each new one when it drops, i have to say i’d really like to see a better variety of chef guests… shilpa is great(!) but at this point i have to admit that i get disappointed when looking forward to a new guest to find that it’s going to be the same chef that’s on basically every ep… 😬 really hope chris or the right person sees this because this otherwise is one of the best food podcasts that i listen to!

    Fun and Helpful Cooking Show
I have been listening since the first episode and love this show. It’s accessible to all levels of home cooks, but still full of tons of useful information. Chris and the co-hosts are always so funny, and the guests are very relatable. One of my favorite listens, and I look forward to it every week. Thanks for the great show. Keep it up!
  • GtownTwinMom
    Love. This. Show.
Listening to this podcast is like having the wonderful Chris Morocco in your kitchen, humorously and reassuringly helping you cook. Chris and his guest pro cook always have interesting recipe recommendations and kitchen tips. I have a IRL friend who also looks forward to the show every week, and we rehash episodes together.

ESSENTIAL FOR NEW AND SEASONED COOKS IN
A fun and informational discussion of solving problems and offering multiple recommendations! They manage to do all this in a fun way !! Careful and compassionate attention is given to every request for help, and the answers are not just the usual – – they are unique and worthwhile to be given an inviting to try! And, you get immediate feedback, as to how it worked with the person requested the assistance! 🌷

Great information, please work on delivery!
The hosts are very knowledgeable! The only reason this isn’t a five star review is that every other word is like or um or uh.

    Easy listening and fun topics
I enjoy this fun cooking podcast that answers questions I have too! It’s not to complex and easy to follow

    Shabbat Showlove
Loved the episode with Nina Moskowitz as a guest host. This was my first time listening to this podcast and I’ll continue - will she come back?? Hope so! She was super sweet (sounding) and love that Lauren elected to make her recipe choice. Would love to hear about other simple meals she makes alone or with her roommates. We ladies will take any help we can get!

A together worthy meal made my ears tingle
I look forward to these episodes each week but never have I craved a recipe more than when the most recent guest, Nina, described how to make the miso mushroom risotto. Her voice was as silky as the smoothest hollaindase. I could listen to it for hours!!

    Keep Nina as cohost
Loved the episode with Nina she should stay

    Love the show!
What a fun new cooking podcast! I love the novelty and all the interesting topics. This feels fresh and different and just what the food podcast world needed. From etiquette to real life conundrums and lots of great pro-tips , this show keeps me engaged and entertained. I adore Chris Morocco and his warm and hilarious banter with co-hosts and guests . This show capitalizes on all the best elements of the Bon Appétit YouTube channel. I just finished the Picky Eater episode and may even listen again as the guest herself was so vulnerable and witty. Will def recommend to others.

    Great host
Chris is charming, funny, and interesting

    A mess
This podcast is a mess. I love Chris Morocco but the editing is terrible and so is the audio. The premise is weak and the communication between the guests and hosts is abysmal.
  • cymansez
Not everyone should host a podcast
I was very excited to listen to this after Frances Lam mentioned it . Frames has a great voice, unfortunately Chris does not. His co-host has a lovely voice. It’s a shame, that one element is a “ make of break it” for me.
  • MellowCello
    Really like this show
This high-energy podcast moves right along, doesn't waste time, and teaches you a thing or two that you may not know. My only criticism is that they don't offer listeners the recipes for dishes they talk about. If you go the Bon Appetit website you have to sign up (for a fee) for access to recipes. Seems like it would be good PR to let podcast listeners access the specific recipes discussed, for free -- which would probably spark a good percentage of them to sign up for site access. Other than that: good job!

    Loving this show
Not a big cooking show fan but this one has me hooked!

    Non-Dairy with Nico/Natalie! THANK YOU!
Great episode.. yes, Nico is our son, so we love anything he and Natalie do.. but I also suffer from Dairy issues.. funny enough, American Dairy products especially.. I can do great with “Buffalo Mozzarella”, real Parmesan, Irish Butter.. but these additional substitutes on this episode are gonna give me so many ideas to try! Super helpful and fun to listen to episode!

So glad Bon Appétit is back!
I was an avid listener of Food People by Bon Appétit, and love this comeback show with Chris Morocco! It’s fun, conversational and educational. I love hearing from multiple team members at Bon Appétit too. It gives me inspiration and motivation to try things out in my own kitchen.

    High quality, relaxing, and informative
This podcast not only sounds great - they clearly use a well-appointed studio and equipment - but its measured, casual pace is a soothing companion for driving, walking, etc. I find the kitchen tips entertaining and helpful as well.
  • PeaceBang
    Fun Concept, Execution Needs Work
I love the idea of this podcast but I endured rather than enjoyed listening to a few episodes during a recent road trip. The INTERMINABLE intros, vapid chit chat and constant use of "sort of" "like" and "right?" (the bane of all podcast listeners I know) are aurally exhausting. With a tighter, more focused production this could be a riveting and entertaining 15 minutes.
  • fhgysx
    Fun listen
Good tips and makes me think of my own way of doing things.
  • ob0618
    So fun!
I’m fired up to cook some of these recipes for my own thanksgiving! Though I’m glad I don’t have to take it out to the grill 😂
