zellibeanLove, love, LOVE!!I just discovered this podcast and have to say I might be in love. Just the right mix of history, humor, urban legend, culture, horror, boozey-ness and dirty minds that are never wasted. Just wrapping the Tailypo episode from early season 1 and fully support a “Tales of the Tailypo” movie starring Kat Dennings and a Hemsworth having random sex in a river.

babsoftheroundtableLoveI love you guys very much. I’ve been looking for a Myths podcast for a while that’s different from my other favs WTFolklore and Myths and Legends. I definitely appreciate the focus on creatures instead of stories. I’ve really just started listening, so I know it’s a balance too, but I love the Japanese snow woman. I HIGHLY appreciate the Indo stories.

jindi458297Dang, guysI thought my immediate conception of the National Park spirit as a CIA agent was a little dark, but you really had me beat. Also, my wife and I still make “but the Pokédex wouldn’t be that dark!” jokes frequently, thanks to your awesome live show. This show is always such a good time. You’re the best!

HandyalchemistPLEASE LET THE SHOW SEE THISHey there, Huge fan of the show and I was sharing the show with my coworkers and mentioning how I was learning about Latin mythology and the legends of Mexico and I mentioned La Lechuza, and both my Hispanic coworkers (both 55+) turned and grinned and wanted to talk. My coworker Veronica had a personal encounter in the 1990’s after just being married and spending time in the apartment complex/condominium of her her family. One night she was with her sister in law and needed to use the restroom, which was outside and among some trees. The sister in law refused amd told her to go alone, so V (Veronica) did . As she was walking she turned towards a tree after hearing some noise and saw Avery large bird, bigger than a turkey that was all white with red eyes that watched her. She passed, thinking nothing of the animal that most have been a turkey and returned home . Just as she came back, her sister in law needed to use the restroom and asked for company but V was just as petty and told her the same response to go alone. As soon as V was alone she felt and heard a whoosh( the translation was hard) and heard a scream followed by loud gunfire and profanity beating shouted in Spanish. The next day her sister in law was bruised and emotionally shaken The elders didn’t tell V what happened but she found out later on that the Bruja had no interest In taking her, that’s why she was left alone buy the sister in law had been taken many times and, many years later, died from wounds inflicted by the Bruja over time. Please let the Spirits podcast see this, I was told this story Less than 12 hours ago and had to share it and also boost the podcast I love.

Nerster75Favorite showOr at least in my top 3. Seriously, covering everything from Baba Yaga, to urban myths and legends, and the plethora of weird or divine in between! What more could I ask for? The discussions feel like brain dumps between friends and I mean that in the best way possible.

AliceCooperFanAnthonyAmazing podcast, commercial ads are too loudI love the podcast but the ads nearly blow out our speakers. I’m glad I wasn’t listening on headphones!
-
Knights_AlchemyStay spooky stay coolI’ve come to really like this show. The hosts’ passion for myths and spooky topics in general is clear. If the title being ‘spirits’ for a show about ghost stories and alcohol doesn’t prove how delightful it is I don’t know what will. Stay spooky stay cool.

thejsdAwesome!!I found this show through Potterless, so I started trying out other multitude podcasts, and I LOVE this podcast!! My fav episodes are the Finnisch ones bc I loved how everyone just had magic, but I haven’t listened to all the episodes yet. Anyway, I really love this podcast so much definitely deserves a listen!!

s h u b e sSolid Podcast ( maybe dropped off a bit lately)I actually found this from Potterless a few years ago and I’ve been consistently enjoying the new episodes. My favorite was definitely the Finish one and I love Elena’s perspective on it. Close second are the Norse ones, and I would love you to cover that more. Greek mythology got a whole series and I really learned a lot from the small amount that it was brought up. Maybe do one comparing the Thor movies to the mythology? I don’t know, that wasn’t even review but the point is, I love it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *Edit* I read ShelbyTheSnail’s review and I realized they weren’t exactly wrong. They talk about how the older episodes were much better and the new ones have more of a formulaic and boring rhythm, and that the Urban Legends are probably mostly fake. Thinking back, all of my favorites are from a while ago, like Japanese urban legends, but I don’t think this changes that I absolutely loved most of the show, even though I haven’t been quite as enthralled since It’s All Greek to Me ended. *another edit* The Norse of Course episode just came out and I’m very excited and Norse mythology is by far my favorite

Adele GrunertI love your podcast!!First off, I love this podcast! I always listened to it when I have nothing else to listen to! Second, I know you have read the Harry Potter books, so what house are you? Third, is the giant crab in the Moana movie myth-relevant, or is that just the movie? Love y’all!!

CherryCheshireFavorite podcast of all timeI love this podcast so much. It’s fun, it’s informative, it’s approachable, it’s queer and relatable. I’ve been listening for years, and I recommend it to people all the time!

RianreneeipadLoving this podcastI just discovered this podcast and am loving it. Learning so much stuff in such a fun way, highly recommend!

Diesel_HThank you!I have been a fan of mythology and folklore my entire life and I have listened to Spirits for some time. I recently listened to your episode on Liminality and the contents of this episode struck home in a new and very personal way. I recently left my job of 6 years as a physical therapist in a skilled nursing/assisted living facility (think post-hospital setting to recover from a hip replacement, a stroke, or where you move when living at home becomes unsafe or burdensome) to an outpatient setting (relatively younger patients who have worked PT in between jobs and family obligations). It’s so different in many ways and I am very much in a transitional phase of my career and life. Thank you for helping me feel less untethered, or rather to fear it less as I navigate these new waters.

chelleariaFun but seriously misinformedThey are very nice people and it is a fun listen, but they get so much wrong! I am an English teacher and have read some of the source material for stories that they have talked about. They got so much wrong in those stories that I was familiar with that I just can’t trust their versions of the stories I’m not familiar with. This is too bad because they really are a lot of fun.
-
ShelbytheSnailI used to love this podcastThis used to be one of my favorite podcasts. Every week they’d cover something really interesting from folklore. Now it seems to be in a set pattern of hometown urban legends (which are just people submitting fake stories that they hope the hosts will read them on the show), myth movie night, interview with some author who just wrote a book that may or may not actually relate to mythology, legends, or folklore, and then a 45 minute episode about a Greek god. Except those 45 minutes have about 10 minutes of intro and a 5 minute ad read. I feel like the show has completely lost its flare and what they meant to do with the show at the beginning. I would love to continue to listen to this show if the hosts would go back to actually covering myths from around the world. I don’t even mind guests every once in a while, but the promoting authors episodes have gotten tiresome. I miss this show and what it used to be. I’m happy for everyone who still enjoys the show, but what it has become is really disappointing. Much love to the hosts, they’re great people and I’m glad that Multitude has done so well.

MagdalynnG13Marvelous MythologyCurrently re-listening to Spirits from the start because I’m current and can’t get enough. An amazing chill podcast from start to finish. Their dynamic and guests only get better. All Multitude shows are amazing but Spirits got me hooked. Such amazing modern takes on mythology and life. not afraid to be who they are and encouraging of their community. Amazing listener interaction and make me feel like I’m hanging out with my best friends, instead of the reality of working at my office job.

Jen12345678887654321A chill podcast for a chill timeMythology is so cool so listening to some interesting women talk about it js even better. If you want something that is kind uplifting and interesting give this show a listen

mad1414Love this podcast, so fun and easy to listen toLong time Potterless fan, new to spirits and I’m addicted. I love the hosts, they’re fun, interesting, intelligent, and informed. They make me laugh all the time and I learn something every time too! These women rock and so does their podcast. I live in Japan for work and it’s a little lonely sometimes so listening to you guys honestly keeps me company, and it’s awesome to hear Japanese myths and other myths from around the world. Thank you for doing what you do, stay creepy stay cool.
-
Very greattttI love themGod this podcast is like taking a warm bubble bath after a long day. I love listening to the legends and myths of the world. Julia and Amanda create a word picture that transports you to a magical world. Highly recommend for anyone that loves history/myths.
-
Bathsheda BabblingBest PodcastI love this podcast. It is the perfect mix of educational material and comedy. I love how they explain myths and relate them to more recent stories and movies. The hosts are brilliant and really put a lot of thought into these podcasts (although they make it seem effortless). This is my favorite podcast to listen to!
-
kelsey MF hillThe best one out thereNow listen, I am subscribed to a LOT of spooky podcasts. A lot of history ones, too. And a lot that crossover. There are NONE that come close to the diversity of topics as Spirits, and the hosts are just so cool. So glad I found this by chance.
-
gr4ntsoehnPerfect for Spooky Season—or any season 💖By far the most fun, spooky, interesting and inclusive podcast of its kind. Do not sleep on Spirits. Pod of your most ethereal dreams!
-
Virginia to ColoradoWonderful show with a wonderful surprise!I’ve been enjoying Spirits on my commute back and forth to work here in Colorado. The stories are engaging, commentary amusing and social justice advocacy woven in between is awesome. I was listening to Episode 36: Your Urban Legends I this morning and I was so happy and surprised to hear about the Female Stranger! I used to work for Port City Brewing Company and it was amazing to hear the shoutout and to reminisce. Also made me miss that delicious black IPA called “Long Black Veil”. Thank you for keeping things spooky and heartwarming. <3

Paramore54Wonderful showI started listening to Spirits back in college. Their excitement for mythology and folklore brings me back to being a kid and loving learning about ancient Greek myths! Every episode is interesting, and the topics are so well researched. I especially love the newer advice episodes. They are beautifully done. Spirits has become a fun and comforting podcast for me. And with Facebook group and tumblr community, I feel like I have good friends in Amanda and Julia, and the whole Spirits family. Stay Creepy, Stay Cool.

JustawhoreROFL didn't think I'd find this much woke crap in a myth podcast.I guess it makes sense though :D
-
locodakokoThis podcast is like therapyI always take away new knowledge from this beautiful, well-researched podcast and the level of empathy and kindness that hosts Amanda and Julia display for each other, their guests, their subjects, and listeners has brought me to tears on several occasions. They are incredibly gifted at what they do, clearly passionate about amplifying diverse myths and folklore, and their delivery is like listening to a friend speak to you in your home over a boozy drink. Listening to this podcast is a gift you give to yourself.
-
maresa03My new favorite podcastI actually came from the potterless podcast because I loved Amanda on it, she was my fav guest! Now I’m obsessed with Spirits it’s amazing & completely binge worthy (which is great since I’m a few years behind). Julia & Amanda are wonderful!
-
chandawandererMy favorite boozy journey through myth and legendI'm years behind, but can't wait to catch up to the pandemic episodes. Keep up the great work ladies

Emberlight7Still Catching Up, But Love It!I’m literally a few years behind still, but I keep loving these episodes as I move closer and closer to the current episode. DEFINITELY recommend starting from episode 1- there’s so many great stories in there, and the quality has improved but still worth listening from episode 1!
-
bwade447Articulate, clever, and enchanting!I adore you guys! Thank you for your well thought out, very self aware edutainment! I wish your whole Multitude team success!
-
Christ0pher FultonEasily my favorite podcast of the year. This is such a brilliantly fun, wholesome, and endearing podcast. Julia, Amanda, and sometimes Eric are some of the best hosts in the podcasting space. Their wit, banter, different upbringings and knowledge on the myths being discussed really make this podcast dynamic and entertaining. I love learning about myths from all different cultures and times with these lovely people, and occasionally mixing some of the drinks they recommend. I can’t wait to listen to more of the back catalogue, and maybe even get my own urban legends on the pod sometime!
-
Celia_______1Smart and thoughtfulDigging into the archive of Spirits is a lot of fun. Julia and Amanda have great, smart conversations and play really well off of each other. This is not just a regurgitation of Wikipedia research (like some other podcasts) but a researched conversation about what myths mean to a people and how they continue to shape us.
-
Leah them//sheSooo good and always interesting! My go-to podcast when I need some inspiration or hungry for some cool myth knowledge/stories. Hilarious and fun to listen to. Love!
-
Dalia EstelleNot loving the new focusThis podcast used to be one of my favorites. You made learning about culture and anthropology easy. Now it is overwhelmingly just myth movie nights and urban legends. Not only are those alienating and not educational, but they are boring. I have really tried the new podcasts, but I wish you would return to the old format with short fun lessons about culturally-derived mythology. I sincerely wish you guys the best.
-
HeatherVCLove. This. Podcast.I love everything about this podcast! I love your dynamic with each other. I love the mindfulness in every episode. Side note, I thought you guys might be interested to know that the Roman numeral for 40 is actually XL, not XXXX (Your Urban Legends episode 40). I don’t know why. It’s weird.
-
murseinsomniaListened to the amityville horror show episode 22.In the Ryan Reynolds movie he had a beard because mr lutz was said to resemble Ronnie defao. Also it is defa(long a)o not defeeo

Wisconsin loves PotterlessMost interesting pod!!As a person who grew up loving Percy Jackson and Hercules, I’ve always liked Greek mythology but this podcast has introduced me to SO MUCH MORE I love every minute of it!
-
GroovystigAwfulThese two taking make me what to gouge my ears out. Great topics but they ruin it by talking. Slurring, grating, Valley girl wannabes.
-
KkkaaaaarennnLove it 😊This podcast is great and helps me get through the day ❤️
-
mariag222Great podcast!I love this podcast! The information is so fun and informative
-
TheDarkMonarch624Informative, interesting, and funny!I love Amanda and Julia’s dynamic. They go through so much information but keep it entertaining the whole time. They discuss a range of mythologies and urban legends from around the world, and even dive in to the origins of mythology around certain topics. One thousand percent recommend!
-
lumberjack 23$Super Fun PodcastAmanda and Julia are so much fun to listen to. You can tell they do a bunch of research for each subject, but they make sure it isn’t just a classroom. Very inclusive, always gives trigger warnings, and always has me laughing along with them! For anyone that read the negative reviews about their knowledge: There are probably 10+ different versions of each myth, so it’s likely you’ll come across one that’s different than how you heard/read it 🤷🏻♀️
-
CatssieeeSo fun!I love this podcast! It’s funny, informative, interesting, entertaining. Love it for work and driving :)
