    Inside look
I started listening to DPBP about 9 months ago and have loved it since day one! I work in state government and in the last years have been intrigued with state politics and policy (NCGA has drastically changed my department in the last year), I enjoy the banter back and forth and the fair opinions/representations the host give. I am no doubt a conservative on most matters but this podcast definitely gives me hope that no matter how far right or left you may fall there is always room to do politics better. The only thing I would add is I wish sometimes to have more news and updates on the issues instead of skimming the surface. Otherwise I would not change a things. *update 2024 I still listen to this daily still a great podcast.

    One star

    Lizard People Interviewing Lizard People
Lobbyists lobbing softball questions at and joking around white supremacists, neo-fascists, January Sixth co-conspirators, and more. After the events of January Sixth, a truly disgusting, ignorant podcast.

One of the Most Informative and Entertaining Political Podcasts
In the way too crowded podcast space, Do Politics Better stands out as a MUST-LISTEN. Skye and Brian are duo that brings informative, insightful, and entertaining views of North Carolina politics to the table. I have to admit, I used to think I really knew NC politics and culture, but man was I wrong. These two are always getting me to think in a more in-depth, thoughtful manner, that leaves me really, really thinking. I am always leaving wanting to know more and anxious for the next episode.

    Great Podcast!!
My favorite political podcast out, love that it highlights local issues and the hosts mix a little bit of fun/quirkiness into their shows, too.

    Waste of time
There are much better things to do with your time then listen to these two babble about the same old stuff.

    Love the show
If things go right, I should be a guest in January 2023 LOL
  • Love it though
    Lobbyists - no thanks
NC politics would be better without lobbyists influencing our legislators’ decisions. I felt like our democracy eroded a bit with each episode and can’t stomach this pod any longer.

More News - Less Member Bios
Great podcast! One of the only, if not the only, podcast that covers North Carolina legislative news, updates, and analysis. I wish they would spend less time letting a different member tell their life story each episode. The best part of each episode is the first five minutes, when the hosts actually cover political news. The remaining 25-minutes is typically a snooze fest/self-bolstering segment for the member. More Dylan Reel!!
  • #DoPoliticsBetter
A NC politics from a unique perspective — from 2 NC lobbyists
A balanced podcast that takes listeners behind the scenes at the General Assembly on how legislation is passed, offers insight on process, and features policymakers in a sit-down interview.

    Common man’s voice
These two speak the legislative “language” and have a mastery of legislative “legalese”. Believe it or not their strong suit is NOT their gifted-ability to translate the General Assembly’s words and actions into an explanation the average taxpayer can understand. Truly, their greatest attribute is two fold. First, their recognition that the average taxpayer has no clue what happens on Jones St. and second their desire to change that by “doing politics better”. (Full disclosure: both are friends of mine and as one of those clueless taxpayers myself, I know firsthand these things are true.).

    Must Listen
As a former staffer at the General Assembky it’s a treat to always hear what’s going on these days at Jones Street. As someone who believes in the inherent goodness of people and the nobility of political service this podcast captures it each and every week.
